Krýsuvík (often also written Krísuvík) is a geothermal area south of Kleifarvatn. It is an ancient manor that was abandoned in the last century and is now owned by the town of Hafnarfjörður.
Krýsuvík is a popular nature area, among the explosive craters are Grænavatn and Gestsstaðavatn, and at Seltún and Kleifarvatn there are clay hot springs.
Krýsuvíkurbjarg is a bird rock down by the coast, where about 57,000 pairs of seabirds mainly nest and blackbirds. There are also a number of terns, cormorants and herring gulls.
